How to: Setup your own seedbox using Transmission on Debian 8/9
Posted on: July 15, 2018

Quite some days ago I did setup the Transmission client on one of my headless dedicated servers for the sake of seeding torrents for private trackers.

Advantage of a seedbox is the fact that I can leave all torrents seeding basically 24/7 without having to leave my own computer turned on. It also prevents most of the copyright trolls from sending out false DMCA complaints.

As the setup is rather easy and painless, I thought I would write a short blog post about how you can achieve the same thing as I did. The guide is meant for Debian 8 and 9, but I am sure that this also works with a few other distros with small changes to the commands.

Flash/update RM Education motherboards to latest ASUS BIOS

So I recently picked up a cheap ITX 1155 series motherboard on Ebay and the reason for the low price was that it was an OEM-customized board. In this case it was an ASUS P8H61-I/RM/SI and  unlike other boards made by ASUS, these boards are often locked down by the OEM and often there is no BIOS updates available.
